Arthroscopy
Arthroscopy (also known as arthroscopic or keyhole surgery) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure on the joints which allows for both the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies affecting the joint and the surrounding areas. A camera (endoscope) is inserted and transmits images to a monitor as to study in detail the area affected in 'real-time'.
It can be particularly useful in the treatment of:
-
- pathologies of the meniscus associated with rupture of the cruciate ligament
- pathologies of the shoulder such as dysplasia in dogs
