Imaging / CT scan

Thanks to the use of specialist equipment, such as radiography systems, fluoroscopy, CT and ultrasound present in our centre, it is possible to obtain precise images of the anatomical structure and functionality of the patient's organs, not only in cats and dogs but also of other species of animals.

Evaluation of images allows for diagnosis without the necessity of, as was common practice in the past, the use of exploratory surgery.

Precisely for this reason, most of the methods belonging to diagnostic imaging are defined as "non-invasive".

Computing tomography

    • Diagnosis of joint dysplasias, especially that of the elbows and knees in dogs
    • Diagnosis of herniated discs, neoplasms (abnormal growth of tissue) concerning the spinal cord and the brain
    • Fast and gentle evaluation of polytrauma (multiple traumatic injuries) patients
    • Control and evaluation of complex wounds of the cranial region
    • Diagnosis and presentation of vascular pathologies (portacaval shunt)
    • Pre-operative complex fractures
    • Localization and characterization of neoplastic structures (benign and malignant growths)

Ultrasound

    • Examination of the abdominal organs and cardiac structures
    • Diagnose of muscle and tendon disorders
    • Ultrasound analysis of the orbital cavity and eyeball
    • Collection of biopsies under ultrasound control

X-ray

    • Diagnostics for musculoskeletal, skull, thoracic, and abdominal pathologies
    • The use of contrast studies for urinary tract and gastrointestinal system conditions analysis

Fluoroscopy

    • A radiographic imaging technique that enables the viewing of moving organs (intestines and swallowing muscles)
